Date: Completed on 19 May 2025
Client: Policy Innovation Center
Location: Kado, FCT-Abuja
Overview
This project covered the design, installation, and commissioning of a 20.7kWp solar power system with 30kVA inverter capacity and 45kWh battery storage for the Policy Innovation Center in Kado, Abuja. GST delivered the full installation including solar carport, PV mounting and wiring, inverter and protection equipment installation, battery configuration, 3-phase synchronization, power distribution, and commissioning. Test results recorded in the report confirm successful system delivery and operational readiness.
Scope of work
GST’s scope included system design, construction of a solar carport for 36 modules, installation and configuration of all solar panels, wall-mounted installation of inverter sets and protection equipment, battery interconnection and configuration, installation of busbar panels and cable routes, 3-phase inverter synchronization, and final testing and commissioning.
Outcomes
Commissioning results recorded in the report show PV array operating voltage of 90-100V, successful autonomous PV charging, successful utility charging, battery voltage readings of 51-53V, and successful 3-phase synchronization at 415V. These results indicate that the system was installed correctly, tested, and commissioned for functional use at the client site.
Project details
The project involved the construction of the car-port support structure, installation and wiring of 36 solar modules, wall mounting of three 10kVA inverter units, installation of breakers, SPDs, and busbar panels, parallel configuration of three 15kWh lithium battery cabinets, synchronization of the inverters into a 3-phase arrangement, and completion of power distribution.
This project demonstrates GST’s ability to deliver medium-scale institutional solar systems that combine PV generation, battery storage, protection architecture, 3-phase synchronization, and onsite distribution work. It is relevant for future proposals involving offices, institutions, and commercial facilities that need stronger energy reliability. One item that should be verified before external reuse is the ‘Recommendation’ section of the source report, because the listed content appears inconsistent with the system specifications and may have been carried over from another project version.
